Story Homes has started work on site in preparation for a development of new homes in Kirkham, Fylde.
The Kirkham development will bring 117 new homes to the Lancashire town, with the first properties due to be released for sale in Spring 2015.
Work now underway on site includes preparation for the new roads and sewerage required for the development.
Accessed via Blackpool Road, the development, to be known as Brookwood Park, will include up to 30% of homes classed as ‘affordable’ for local people.
Other benefits the new development will bring include job creation and opportunities both directly and indirectly for local suppliers and contractors and local businesses and services. The development will bring around £10 million worth of investment to the local area over the lifetime of the build phase.
Story Homes was awarded a UK Property Award in 2014 for the nearby High Wood development in Lancaster. The development, on the site of the former Lancaster Moor Hospital, was recognised within the industry as one of the country’s top housing development sites.
