We are delighted to share that we have received planning consent to deliver an additional 107 new homes at our successful Edgehill Park development.
We have been building new homes in Whitehaven for over 13 years, and this latest consent will see us continue our presence within the town until at least 2027, resulting in continued investment for 17 years.
For over a decade we have provided both direct and indirect employment opportunities for hundreds of workers within the area and have boosted the local economy through the benefits associated with the delivery of new housing, as well as raising the bar in terms of the quality people expect when looking for a new home in the town.
Story Homes’ Head of Technical, Graham Parker, has been involved with the delivery of the sites in Whitehaven since the pre-development stage. Graham said: “I’m delighted that our application to extend Edgehill Park has been approved. We’ve been building in Whitehaven for many years now, and I’m proud of the developments we’ve created. I’ve really enjoyed being involved in these challenging and rewarding projects.”
Over the years, we have continually evolved the design of our house types to ensure that our homes keep pace with the needs and demands of customers. What has remained consistent though is our commitment to delivering attractive, well built homes that stand the test of time.
Once the new phase is complete, we will have delivered almost 600 high quality, high specification homes in Whitehaven across four different developments, the first being Magellan Park, which launched in 2010.
Carreana Taylor, Sales Manager for Story Homes Cumbria & Scotland said: “Magellan Park was the first development I worked on when joining Story Homes as a Sales Executive in 2010, and I’ve been involved in our sales activity in Whitehaven ever since. It’s been a pleasure to watch as our developments have regenerated this area of the town, making it a desirable location for young adults and families alike.
“Edgehill Park is now home to hundreds of people, and it’s great to see these new communities grow and thrive. I’m proud of what our business has achieved here, and I’m thrilled that this latest planning consent will allow us to continue delivering our high quality homes in this location.”
The recently approved phase will deliver a mix of homes ranging from three to five-bedrooms, featuring open plan, flexible layouts and a high specification throughout. The proposals also include the provision of affordable homes and new open spaces which will be available for use by both new and existing residents. A new feature of this phase will be the inclusion of electric vehicle charging points, which will be fitted to each home.
