We are delighted to share that we have raised over £35,000 for our charity partner, Cancer Research UK (CRUK), following three corporate golf days.
The golf days took place in Cumbria, Manchester and Northumberland and saw our subcontractors, agents and employees enter teams to take part in a Texas Scramble competition format.
Teams paid an entry fee to the charity in return for hole sponsorship, and a number of fantastic prizes were donated for raffles and auctions, with all proceeds going to CRUK.
Prizes were awarded to winning teams as well as for ‘nearest to the pin’ and ‘longest drive’ competitions. Thanks to an overwhelming response from business partners, the events were a huge success raising thousands of pounds for our charity partner.
Hayley Blair, Sales & Group Marketing Director for Story Homes, said: “We wanted to organise an event that would raise a significant amount of money for our charity partner, and it was great to see subcontractors, agents and employees come together for this very important cause.
“We were absolutely blown away by the generosity of those who supported our golf days and are delighted at the total amount we managed to raise. We’d like to thank all those who entered teams or donated prizes to make the events so successful.”
Each year Story Homes colleagues vote for a charity partner to dedicate its colleague and company fundraising to, with activities and events planned throughout the year to raise funds for the charity. CRUK is the world’s leading independent cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research, influence and information and the funds we raise as a business will play a vital role in helping those who are affected by this awful disease.
Commenting on the charity partnership and the golf days, Nicky McKenna, Relationship Manager for CRUK, said: “On behalf of Cancer Research UK and our loved ones, I’d like to say a huge thank you to all the staff and suppliers of Story Homes, who have organised and participated in three outstanding fundraising golf days in aid of Cancer Research UK, in 2024.
“This is our third year of partnership with Story Homes and they have really gone above and beyond, what anyone could have anticipated. The effort of Story Homes’ employees is a humbling demonstration of exceptional dedication, passion and kindness, working together with Cancer Research UK to fund life-saving research. We’re helping everyone to live longer, better lives, free from the cancer and it is the support of Story Homes that makes this a possibility.”
