We’re shining a spotlight on The Emmerson, a unique 4-bedroom townhouse, hearing what real customers think of this home and providing the ultimate styling inspiration from Yasmin and Rebecca who have Instagram accounts devoted to their Emmerson’s.
Yasmin from @ouremmersonstory lives at our Aspen Grange development in Carlisle and Rebecca from @watsonthegrid bought at St John’s Manor, Callerton. Both have beautifully styled their Emmerson, adding personality and character to truly transform a new build into their home.
Q: What do you love about your Emmerson and why did you choose this house type over others?
Yasmin said: “There’s so much we love about The Emmerson. It has a large living room to entertain in which easily opens out into the garden – we can’t wait to be able to have the doors wide open in the summer and entertain friends and family with BBQs.
The main bedroom on the top floor provides a large peaceful space to relax and unwind at night, and because it’s three storeys the views can be amazing – the sunrises and sunsets are beautiful!
“The Emmerson is flexible so it suits many different people and their varying needs. We only need the main bedroom so we’re currently using our spare bedrooms as an office, dressing room and a guest bedroom for when family and friends visit. The bedrooms have the perfect space for built in wardrobes too. Although there’s just two of us (and our new pup Bonnie!) it doesn’t feel like it’s too big for us now, but also offers the space to grow in the future which was important. It really is a house that can grow and change with you as a family.”
Rebecca said: “The Emmerson has such a big sq ft. giving us more than enough room to grow in the future as a young couple. We love the main bedroom and en-suite making up the entire top floor.
“Our favourite thing about our Emmerson is the amount of natural light the entire house gets. The skylights and the bi-fold doors out onto the garden make the living room such a bright space to be in. We love that our living space is at the back of the house, as we prefer the privacy when we’re relaxing.”
Q: Why did you choose Story Homes?
Yasmin said: “We viewed several show homes from various companies and Story Homes instantly stood out for the high quality, timeless designs and unique, beautiful touches such as the oak handrails on the stairs and bay windows. Another bonus was the large storage cupboards around the house which many new builds lack. We’ve even turned one into a pantry, we have so much storage it’s fantastic.
“We absolutely loved the feel of the development from the moment we visited. All the houses feel well laid out and spacious which was different to other housebuilders we had visited which were cramped. We also love the pond in the centre, it’s perfect to take Bonnie for a walk there, meet our new neighbours and watch the wildlife thriving in the pond. On a crisp winters day it’s glorious.
“Our Sales Executive, Sam, was truly amazing and helped us through every step. She was very patient when it came to the difficult part of picking our choices.”
Rebecca said: “We’re a young professional couple that wanted a blank canvas to make our own. We wanted to make sure that the blank canvas we were buying was of the high quality that you get with a Story home.”
