Customer spotlight: The Harrison

We’re shining a spotlight on our recently engaged customers, Holly Watson, administration manager, and Grant Walker, design engineer, who have moved into their new home, The Harrison, at Edgehill Park in Whitehaven, West Cumbria.

Read our Q&A with Holly to find out why they chose The Harrison and what they love most about this beautiful 4-bedroom home.

Why did you choose The Harrison?

“We were looking for our forever home and planning for the future, we knew we wanted four bedrooms, a big open kitchen, a spacious garden and a double drive – all of which The Harrison ticked.”

What do you love about your new home?

“We love the finish of our Harrison, it’s a lovely red brick. We’ve hosted several gatherings now and everyone always comments on how great the kitchen space is. We’ve put a TV on the end wall and got a big eight-seater corner style bench which is perfect for hosting. The four bedrooms are a lovely size too, especially the main bedroom.

“One of my favourite features is the main bathroom, I knew I wanted a four-piece suite, and the main bathroom met all expectations, the double ended bath, large towel rail, beautiful tiles and rain shower are all amazing. We opted for the Bluetooth mirror as an extra and it was worth every penny! Having a downstairs toilet as well as an ensuite is a great design feature too.”

Why did you choose a new build over a second-hand property?

“We looked for around two years for an older property, but I had a lot of crucial requirements that I wasn’t willing to compromise on. Every house we went to see would have needed an extension to make it our perfect forever home, which obviously isn’t ideal or practical.

“We came to see the Story show home and fell in love with the quality and design of The Harrison as well as the location of Edgehill Park – it was the home we’d been trying to find for the past two years. Wendy, the Sales Executive, was fantastic from the very first meeting through to handing the keys over on move in day and was one of the reasons we felt so confident in buying.”

What did you think of our show homes?

“We loved the show home at Edgehill Park, the styling and interior design was beautiful and had an impact on the interior of our house now. I took inspiration in things like feature walls, built in wardrobes, bookcases and I can’t leave out the fluffiest carpet ever! The bathroom tiles were also the tiles we picked for our main bathroom – it was really good to visualise exactly how it would look.”

Why did you choose Edgehill Park, Whitehaven?

“We loved the location of Edgehill Park, it’s really handy for Whitehaven town centre and for both our work locations. We grew up in the Whitehaven area and our family and friends are all nearby, so we wanted to stay in the area and be somewhere we raise our family in the future.”

Would you recommend Story Homes?

“We would absolutely recommend Story Homes to friends and family. My brother and uncle were so impressed with the quality, well thought-out design, and personalisation options that they decided to purchase Story homes too.”
