Customer case study: Relocating to a second Story home

Where was your first Story home located?

“We moved into our first Story home in April 2013 in Clifton Hill Gardens. Now we’re moving to Longton Grange in November 2024.”

What made you choose our Longton Grange development?

“We are relocating because we wanted to be nearer to Helen’s family, and it was a good accessible work location for us both. Once we started looking for houses, we found that nothing appealed to us, until we saw that Story Homes were building in the village. We stopped looking and concentrated on making this move a reality. To quote Jason: That’s it – take our money, we’re in!”

Which house type did you choose and why?

“We have gone for The Masterton; the downstairs space is perfect. We love entertaining and having the open-plan kitchen, it will be perfect for hosting family and friends. Having a second bedroom with a second en-suite will be great for when our friends stay over, especially after too many wines from our wine fridge that we added to the kitchen island!”

What do you love most about your house type?

“The bi-fold doors out into the garden, and there’s plenty of room upstairs for days when we are both working from home; it means we won’t be competing for office space.”

Which room do you find yourselves spending the most time in?

“Without a doubt the kitchen – Jason is a great cook and loves creating feasts. We’re even planning on having an outdoor kitchen, outside the utility room.”

Did you consider a second-hand property? If yes, why did you choose new?

“We did, as we were unaware the development was in progress. As we’ve already lived in a Story home before, we knew how fantastic the build quality and services are at Story Homes. From our first phone call, to reserving our home, to choosing the options, and receiving updates from the Sales Executive have been amazing. The staff have been so helpful in getting back to us and answering our endless questions.

“It was so special being able to go into our house at build stage 18 and talk to the Site Manager. The Story staff really do go above and beyond.”

What do you like most about living in a new build? Is it the space, the energy efficiency, the low maintenance, etc?

“We love having the opportunity to choose everything at the beginning of the process, and having it fitted for move-in day. We aren’t a very DIY couple, so having such a great choice of options at the appointment was brilliant. Especially since relocating to a new area, it would have been difficult to find workmen to help refit a second-hand property to our taste.”

Did you consider other housebuilders and if yes, why did you choose Story Homes?

“We did look into some local builders in the area, but some didn’t even return our phone calls. Not a great first impression!”

Would you recommend, or have you already recommended Story Homes?

“Absolutely recommend! Great quality homes and the best service from the staff! Even the Sales Executives who haven’t been dealing with us have been so fantastic and helpful.”
