Plans submitted for new range of executive homes in Morpeth, Northumberland

November 2014

Plans have been submitted for 39 executive homes in the market town of Morpeth.

Story Homes has submitted the detailed plans to Northumberland County Council for consideration and a decision is expected early in 2015. Story Homes previously held a public consultation in July 2013 to collect feedback and shape proposals before making the submission.

The proposals have been specifically designed for this site and are to provide 39 executive 4 and 5 bed houses.  Realignment of the Fulbeck Lane – A192 junction, will not only provide a safe access for the new development but also for the existing residents of Fulbeck.

Story Homes will also be providing the local authority with an affordable housing contribution to be used for the provision of affordable housing within Morpeth.

James Johnson, Story Homes Planner said: “This new and exciting development is the first for Story Homes not only in Northumberland, but also our signature range of 4 and 5 bedroom family homes.  We have worked closely with the local authority over a period of 12 months to prepare the proposals which represent a high quality development, respecting the character of the area.”

Story Homes recently opened an office on Newcastle Business Park. Other successful developments in the North East include The Woodlands in Shotley Bridge, County Durham and Kingsbrook Wood in Middlesbrough, Teeside.
