Planning application submitted for new homes in Wrea Green

April 2014

Outline plans have been submitted to develop new homes in Wrea Green, Fylde.

Consultation to discuss plans for new homes in Wrea Green, Fylde

The proposed site

Story Homes is proposing to build up to 100 new homes in the Lancashire village, bringing a number of benefits to the area. The land, off Willow Drive in the village, would provide detached and semi-detached high quality and high specification family homes.

The plans would help the local authority to address the under delivery of housing in the district by boosting the supply. The proposals would also potentially offer up to 30 affordable homes to address affordable housing needs in the district. The development would also provide open space to be enjoyed by the whole community.

The proposed development is Story Homes’ first in the Fylde area and would have a positive impact on the local economy by providing local contractors with opportunities to tender for work, and benefits for local supply chains. Much needed employment opportunities would be created both directly through Story Homes and indirectly through the knock on effect for local businesses.

David Hayward, Development Planner for Story Homes said: “We have taken on board the feedback received throughout the consultation period and the plans we have submitted offer a well designed scheme which will complement the existing
character of the village and help to address the housing needs of the borough.”

Following a public consultation in March, plans have been submitted to Fylde Borough Council and we hope that a positive decision will be reached towards the end of Summer 2014.
