A detailed planning application has been submitted for new homes in Galgate near Lancaster.
Story Homes has submitted the application to Lancaster City Council for 71 new homes on land at Stoney Lane in Galgate.
The plans include a mix of 2 bedroom apartments and 2, 3 and 4-bedroom semi-detached and detached houses.
40% of the properties will be affordable homes that will be available to local people according to criteria set by Lancaster City Council.
The application was submitted following a public consultation. The consultation event was an opportunity for the local community to find out more about the plans and make suggestions and comments.
David Hayward, Development Planner for Story Homes said: “Our proposals address the need for housing in both Galgate and across the district and will deliver economic benefits to the local area. As well as offering a large number of affordable homes for local people, the proposed development would include public open space and play space for use by the whole community, and traffic calming measures on Stoney Lane.”
Story Homes already has one other development in Lancaster. High Wood, on the site of the former Lancaster Moor Hospital, was named best North West development in the annual UK Property Awards, recognising it as one of the best developments in the UK.
