Make a move to a townhouse at Summerpark

April 2016

Townhouses offer a range of advantages over traditional two storey houses and visitors to Story Homes’ award winning Summerpark development in Dumfries won’t be disappointed when they hear about all the features of the ‘Lauriston’.

The ‘Lauriston’ townhouse is perfect for a range of different buyers. It’s traditional in that it has a ground floor kitchen and family dining area but then has the townhouse feature of benefiting from a spacious lounge and bedroom on the second floor and then a further two bedrooms on the third floor.

Local Dumfries couple, Natalie Crosbie and Lee Malin picked up the keys for their stunning new house a few weeks ago and have already made it feel like home.

Lee and Natalie happy in their forever home

There are many advantages to buying a new home but for Lee and Natalie, the main reason was that there were able to make use of the Help to Buy Scheme to move them into a higher bracket of the type of houses they could look at potentially purchasing. Lee said: “Buying brand new brings other advantages too, there’s obviously no work needing to be done to the property, which suited us as we have two children aged four and one. It wouldn’t have been feasible to buy a second hand property, then to start all the building, painting and decorating that would come along with it with two young children running about. The idea of getting the keys and instantly being able to move in was a huge advantage for us.”

Natalie was keen to buy a townhouse rather than a more traditional housetype because of the space it has to offer. “For us, having the opportunity to have a downstairs living/dining area with the French doors leading into the garden so the children can spend most of the day down there, which means that the living room on the second floor can be kept nice for visitors and evenings. The three bathrooms are a great advantage for us as well” said Natalie.

With many incentives available including part exchange, Help to Buy and much more, owning a Story Home at Summerpark could be easier than you thought.

Sales Manager, Susan Pollard said: “Our Summerpark development is one of our most sought after developments, with a range of stunning three and four bedroom homes ideally located alongside excellent local facilities, footpaths and cycle routes, to be enjoyed by everyone.

“Whether you’re looking for your first home like Natalie and Lee or are wanting to move to a larger family home or even downsizing, with a range of 12 different property types available, there really is something for everyone.”

Natalie and Lee have been really pleased with their experience of buying a Story Home. They said: “The Sales Executives were great; they were there at every step of the way. They were prompt with any queries we had and were very approachable. Also the aftercare service has been brilliant even though we haven’t found any faults with the property. We get the feeling that the whole team genuinely care that they’re handing over the property in its best possible condition.”
