Kitchen Installation

Overview

Your kitchen has been designed with modern convenience and style in mind. Energy-efficient and seamlessly integrated appliances provide a sleek and functional workspace for cooking and cleaning. Cupboards are crafted to maximise space, offering ample storage for utensils, cookware, and food while maintaining a clean and organised appearance. With contemporary and traditional finishes and thoughtful layouts, the kitchen is the hub of your home, perfect for cooking, relaxing and entertaining.

Doors, Drawers & Hinges

Doors, Drawers & Hinges

Your kitchen is covered against faulty material or workmanship for a period of two years. This excludes products which have been subjected to misuse, neglect, damage or general wear and tear. Silestone worktops have a 25-year warranty through the manufacturer.

We would always ask you to provide our Aftercare team with exact details of the location of the kitchen issue which you are reporting, preferably with photos, as this enables the kitchen suppliers to identify the size and type of item affected.

Additional parts

If you would like to purchase additional units or spare parts for your new kitchen, please contact the Roundel Homeowner Sales department via the online webform found at: www.roundelkitchens.co.uk/homeowner

Or if you have a Symphony Kitchen via this link: https://www.symphony-group.co.uk/order-extras/

Care of your kitchen

Please ensure that any spillages are quickly mopped up, as leaving water on surfaces may cause the material to blow. If this occurs, this would not be classed as a defect covered by the warranty.

Please do not overfill drawers as runner failure is more likely when loads are greater than the limit they are designed for.

Painted products are subject to variations in colour and tone over time. Please refer to your brochure for more details.

Please ensure that only suitable cleaning agents are used on the kitchen cupboards and worktops and note that discolouration may be due to an unsuitable cleaning product being used.

Doors and drawers out of alignment

Kitchen unit doors and drawers will move from the day they are installed until the time you enter your property and subsequently at the point you change weight loads within your drawers and cupboards.

If you find that your doors or drawers are out of alignment, you can adjust these yourselves. It is not something which is covered under the warranty. Kitchen cupboard doors will need to be re-aligned every six months to one year; customers should do this by simply moving the adjustment settings on the hinges. Please refer to the brochure for more detailed instructions.

If you deem an issue to be more significant than misalignment, please do let us know and we will of course pass this back to the kitchen fitters to review.

Marks on sinks

Your sink is made of a material that will pick up scratches and marks in everyday use. Simply follow the instructions as recommended by the manufacturer.

For stainless steel sinks, please apply a proprietary stainless-steel cleaner/polish with a soft cloth (Astonish works well) and for composite sinks, a little spot of bleach in water works well.

Scratch marks on doors

Abrasive cleaners or cloths should never be used to clean your kitchen doors and drawers and they should most definitely never be used on glass.

Scratch marks on stainless steel panels and appliances

Stainless steel products will, by nature, pick up scratch marks. To minimise scratches, simply follow the instructions as recommended by the manufacturer. The best ways to avoid such marks are to use e-cloths and conditioning oils.

Issues with pelmet and over counter lights

When replacing these, please always ensure the correct size and wattage of bulb is used. When replacing halogen lights, please take great care to ensure you do not touch the glass as this shortens their life span.

Issues with extractor hood

Often when the bulb on an extractor ‘blows’, the fuse within the socket also blows. So, before reporting this, please check the fuse within the plug.

Worktops swelling at joints or at the sink area

To protect your worktop from water ingress, all joints are sealed with Unika TopSeal, which is waterproof and flexible once cured. Sink and hob cut outs are sealed with a hardwearing high modulus silicone.

Heat can also cause damage to a worktop, so do not place hot items directly on to the surface. Please also be aware that steam from kitchen items such as kettles, microwaves can also alter the temperature at worktop joints.

Swollen or peeling doors and drawers caused by moisture or heat penetration

The positioning of kettles and toasters can have a detrimental effect on kitchen products. Please ensure that the heat from the toaster and the hot moisture from the kettle are directed away from your kitchen doors and drawers. Another common reason for this issue is the incorrect following of the manufacturer’s instructions when cooking and grilling. Most manufacturers will recommend you grill with the oven door closed and after cooking, allow the oven to cool with the oven door closed to protect both your kitchen doors and drawers.

Rust spots on stainless steel bowls

Stainless steel does not rust. If you have rust marks, the most common cause is using wire cleaning pads. When cleaning, small particles of the pad can break free and appear as rust marks on your sink. Apply a cream cleanser with a soft damp cloth and rub gently. If the mark is more stubborn, apply a stainless-steel proprietary cleaner.

Leaking taps

This is very common in new homes and often the result of debris in the water system. This usually clears after a few days, however please contact us for advice if the problem persists.

Kitchen Appliances

Kitchen Appliances

The warranty for kitchen appliances is between the homeowner and the manufacturer. If an issue arises, please contact the below customer service number which is relevant for your appliance:

  • Electrolux: 03445 613 613
  • AEG: 03445 611 611
  • Zanussi: 03445 612 612
  • Hoover: 03444 995599

Should you encounter any challenges or require assistance, reaching out to the manufacturer’s customer service will ensure prompt and efficient resolution.

Dishwasher

If an error message appears on your dishwasher, please refer to the manual and follow the provided troubleshooting steps for guidance.

If an error appears which suggests a fault with the water inlet for the dishwasher, please initially check that the water shut-off valve to the dishwasher has not been knocked or turned slightly as this can be a common occurrence which prevents sufficient water from reaching the dishwasher.

It’s important to note that the plug socket for your dishwasher is intentionally not connected to the wall. This is a standard fitting as the rear of the dishwasher can experience an increase in temperature during operation.

Extractor hood carbon filters

For your extractor hood, it is crucial to adhere to the recommended maintenance intervals for changing carbon filters. Refer to your appliance manual and the manufacturer’s guidelines for specific details tailored to your model.

Your diligence in following these guidelines contributes to the longevity and optimal performance of your kitchen appliances. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Hobs

The product code and serial number for your induction hob should be underneath the hob. This can be accessed by removing the top drawer beneath the hob or if there is an oven beneath rather than a drawer, this can also be removed simply by unscrewing the fixing screws attaching it at the back. We recommend using a mobile device to take a photo of the information plate as this may be difficult to see. Please keep this information in a safe place for future reference.
