We welcome the decision by the Planning Inspectorate to approve the appeal to build 300 new homes at Stockton Road in Sedgefield following a Public Inquiry in August 2016.
As part of the approved development Story Homes will bring 80 high quality homes to County Durham.
We will be building a range of properties from two bedroom to five bedroom homes, including some bungalows, which are designed to create attractive street scenes with generous landscaped areas. A total of 10 per cent of the homes will be allocated as affordable housing for local people.
Sarah Armstrong, head of land and planning for Story Homes in the North East, said: “We are very pleased that the Planning Inspector has recognised the quality of our proposals in resolving to approve the appeal and grant planning permission. We look forward to working in Sedgefield and bringing our award-winning, high specification homes to the area.
“The scheme will create employment opportunities for local contractors and bring further economic benefits to Sedgefield.”
