Dumfries family fun day proves a great success

June 2015

With the help of sponsorship money from Story Homes, families were able to enjoy a family fun day in Dumfries.

Dumfries based charity Bump, Baby and Beyond celebrated five years of work in the community on Sunday 14 June, with a family fun day in the town. The event brought together the charity’s five main projects Babes in the Woods, Dumfries Sling Library, Dumfries Nappy Library, Mum2Mum Friends breastfeeding support service and their sensory craft group. Each project group organised a range of fun activities to keep family members of all ages entertained, in addition to putting on a barbecue and a number of fundraising activities.

With over 250 people in attendance the day was a great success with the hit of the day proving to be Builder Bear, the mascot of Story Homes, who also sponsored the event.

Trustee and Deputy Chair Rebecca Topping said: “We have been delighted with the turnout today and wish to thank Story Homes for their sponsorship which has supported all the projects to put on such a fabulous day. Builder Bear was a fantastic addition and the children adored him, so much so we considered keeping him!”Builder-bear-Dumfries

The final total raised at the event was £791, which will be used to support project and volunteer development across all the projects.
