Charged and raring to go!

November 2016

Story Homes continue to prove their commitment to their ‘Sustainable Story’ by installing charging points for their staff hybrid vehicles.

The carbon footprint of our vehicle fleet has dramatically reduced over the last year with nearly a quarter of company vehicles delivering an average CO2 of under 110g/km.

The company has incentivised staff to select hybrid vehicles as company cars in order to reduce the environmental impact of the business.

With staff increasingly selecting hybrid vehicles, the company has taken the further step of installing two charging points, with the capacity for four cars at their Carlisle head office for staff use.

“As we continue to grow, it’s important that we embed our values into the way we operate, and this demonstrates our clear commitment to being a sustainable business,” explained Steve Errington Chief Executive of Story Homes.

He continued “This is just a small step in the right direction, and is part of our programme to work in an environmentally friendly way and build sustainable communities. We’re going to be setting ourselves high standards and tough targets for the years ahead.”

Sustainable Story is an ethos which runs through the business, touching upon colleagues, supply chain, homes and customers. All aspects of business practice are linked back to the ‘Sustainable Story’ commitment to have a positive impact in the industry and community.
