David, his fiancée Hayley and their little girl Penelope have moved in to their four-bedroom detached Durham house type at our Brookwood Park development.
David, who is from Kirkham, lived in a two-bedroom terraced home in the town. Fiancée Hayley moved in with him and their family has grown following the arrival of their daughter Penelope. The family were running out of space in their home and knew they wanted to stay in the area.
They sold their home and looked at properties available in the town and also around a number of new developments in the area. The couple fell in love with the Durham show home and never thought they would be able to afford it as Hayley was on maternity leave at the time.
Having a young family, the couple decided they didn’t want to buy pre-loved home that needed work and always compared every home they looked at to the Durham, as it offered them the perfect layout, guarantees and all in the right location.
David said: “As soon as we walked in to the Durham show home we fell in love with it. It is a beautiful large home with spacious rooms and our master bedroom also has an en-suite which is perfect for us.
“The design and finish of a Story Home is exceptional. The open plan kitchen, dining and family area to the back of the house is a great space for us and somewhere we spend a lot of time – having Penelope means we can use this space as a family and it’s also great for entertaining. The kitchen came with integrated appliances so we haven’t had to go to the expense of buying these additional items which has been great.”
The couple, who are also planning their wedding in 2019, purchased their home using the Government’s Help to Buy scheme which meant they could afford their dream home as well as having the lifestyle they were used to.
The Government ‘Help to Buy’ scheme aims to help buyers who have a deposit of at least 5%, by borrowing 20% from the government and take a 75% mortgage to secure their dream home.
