Application submitted for new homes in High Harrington, Cumbria

May 2017

Story Homes have submitted detailed proposals to build 115 high-quality new homes on land to the east of Main Road, in High Harrington.

Proposals would create a sustainable and integrated development that would make an important contribution to the district’s housing supply.

David Hayward Planner for Story Homes said; “We are seeking detailed planning consent for a new development of 115 homes, which includes 23 affordable homes available for local people based on their eligibility, providing a much needed boost to the affordable market in Workington.

“We are renowned for designing high quality homes throughout Cumbria and for our striking street scenes on our developments. In the design of our proposal we have paid careful attention to the local area’s different forms of development, architecture, appearance and material and these aspects will be visible when travelling around the development creating a unique sense of space.”

The proposed development would deliver a mix of 2, 3, 4, and 5 bed, terraced, semi detached and detached dwellings, and 23 of these new homes will be affordable.

Full details of the application can be viewed at Allerdale Borough Council using the application reference 2/2017/0246.

A decision on the application is anticipated in Summer 2017.
